Fishes like the Dwarf Cichlid and Altum Angelfish that originated in the Rio Amazon or the Pelvicachromis originated in the rivers of West Africa, are commonly infected by a parasite called Hexamita whether or not the fishes are wild or bred. Symptoms of fishes infected by the intestinal parasites are not as easy to recognize as large parasites. Infected fishes do not die in a short period of time, but they do appear thin, weak and also have a swelling abdomen. In more serious cases, the intestines will fester and swell, leading to obstruction and even tissue hydrolyzation. In the initial stage, the infected will rub itself against hard surfaces such as rocks and decorations, have occasional trembles, and also suddenly propel itself around the tank. In the next stage, the infected will become weak, and resist eating. The disease commonly leads to death if untreated.

Applications and Dosage: Prior to application please remove the activated carbon from aquarium circulation system. During the dosing period, please raise the temperature to 28~30 °C, and after the treatment is over, please change the water by 20~40%, and filter the water with activated carbon. This product is not suitable for cartilaginous fish such as sharks and rays, as well as invertebrates.
